THE FOUNDATION

The aim of the Barilla Foundation is to contribute to building a better future. To do so, it analyses food systems, because the well-being of Planet Earth and its inhabitants depends partly on our awareness and the results of our everyday actions.

Our research and outreach projects promote sustainable behaviors and healthy food choices, to bring about a concrete change in society.

ADVISORS

Prof. RICCARDO VALENTINI

Professor at the University of Tuscia; strategic consultant at the Euro-Mediterranean Center on Climate Change (CMCC) Foundation.

Strategic Director of the IAFES Climate Impacts Division at the Euro-Mediterranean Center on Climate Change Foundation, he and his team were awarded the 2007 Nobel Peace Prize for their work at the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC).

He has been a researcher at the Department of Plant Biology of the Carnegie Institution of Washington and at the European Commission Joint Research Center, focusing on Ecology, agri-forestry systems and issues related to the implementation of international conventions to protect the environment.

His publications have appeared in highly prestigious international scientific journals such as “Science” and “Nature”.

Dr. LUCIO CARACCIOLO

Lucio Caracciolo (Rome, 1954) is editor-in-chief of the Rivista Geopolitica Italiana, Limes, (www.limesonline.com) and Head of Geopolitics at Macrogeo.

He teaches Strategic Studies at LUISS University, Rome and Geopolitics at San Raffaele University, Milan.

He frequently writes columns for Italy’s “La Repubblica” newspaper and “L’Espresso” magazine. Author of articles for various magazines, in Italy and abroad. Former tutor in Geopolitics at the University of Rome 3. Author of numerous essays and books on these topics.
